WI-FI

The password is “casabalat” for all the networks. Please connect to “Casa Balat 1” if you are in the bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, to “Casa Balat 2” if you are in the kitchen or living room areas, “Casa Balat 3” for the last bedroom, lounge room and pool area. All networks are served via ethernet, so the speed is very high speed for such remote location.

GARBAGE

Please use properly the recycling bins. Casa Balat is an eco-friendly structure with separate collection of trash. You will find 4 indoor for organic bio-waste, residue, paper and plastic and 2 outdoor for glass and metal. You are responsible for your trash, please bring it out with you and take care of its disposal. There are several collection spots closeby. If you see trash in the fields, or dispersed in nature, feel free to pick it up. It’s not a favour to us, but to everyone including yourself <3.

LINENS

We change your bed sheets and towels free of charge every 5th day of your stay. If you need it more often, please check the EXTRA SERVICES page.

ECO COOLING / HEATING SYSTEM

Being a 100% green and self sutained project, the water we use comes from our land while the energy we consume comes partly from underground (through a geothermic system) and partly from the sun (through solar panels). So Casa Balat A/C is based on a real eco and sustainable cooling/heating system. It works from the floor of the house, giving a great level comfort and not impacting the air directly with all the negative effects of the old-fashioned “air blowing” systems. It's important to keep in mind that it is a “low-regime” system, meaning that it takes time to condition the air inside the premises initially, so make sure you maintain doors and windows closed as much as possible. It takes 20 minutes for a room to get to outside temperature with a window open, but 12 hours to be properly conditioned again. Also, DO NOT TOUCH the thermostates as we control them remotely.

HOUSE RULES

1. No parties allowed.

2. Strictly forbidden to light a fire.

3. No smoking allowed.

4. Pets allowed upon request.

5. No unregistered guests allowed.

6. Don't eat or drink in the bedrooms, living room or lounge room.

7. Always check that you are not getting in the house with dirt below your shoes if for example you are coming back from a hike. Same for your pets.

8. Minors are not allowed in the pool without the strict supervision of an adult. You are solely responsible of the safety of yourself and your party members.

9. Do not dive in the pool.

10. Do not throw trash or paper towels in the toilets.

11. Take care of your key. Lost keys incur a replacement fee.

12. Take care of the furnishings. They are all high-design and damages (which you will have to pay for) are not going to be cheap.

13. Do not rearrange or move the furniture.

14. Do your dishes. If you don’t, you will incur in an extra cleaning fee of 50€.

15. Please respect the recycling system and separate bins (see the “Garbage” section below).

16. No illegal substances allowed on the premises.

17. After using the hob / stove ALWAYS place the twistpad back to its safe place, on the metal bar above the hob. If you damage or lose the twistpad you will incur in a 150€ extra fee (see the “Appliances” section below).

HOW TO USE THE APPLIANCES

INDUCTION HOB/STOVE

⁃ You will find the magnetic twistknob safely placed above the hob. ALWAYS put it back there once you are done using the hob. The twistpad is the area in which you can use the twistknob to select the hotplates and heat settings. The twist knob is magnetic, so place on top of the twistpad. The twist knob will automatically centres itself in the twistpad area.

⁃ Switch on the hob using the main switch.

⁃ To activate a hotplate, touch the twist knob at the dot corresponding to the desired cooking area.

⁃ Turning the twist knob selects the heat setting.

⁃ As the induction stove consume quite a quantity of energy, please avoid using it simoultaneously with the oven.

OVEN

⁃ If the timer is blinking, first you need to press on the clock symbol. Otherwise go directly to the next step.

⁃ Push the left encoder to pop it out, then select the desired function.

⁃ Push the right encoder to pop it out, then select the desired temperature.

⁃ The oven will switch on after a few seconds.

⁃ Please avoid the use of the oven simultaneously with the induction hob.

• DISHWASHER

⁃ Open or close it by pushing gently the door.

⁃ Place your dishes making sure they leave the rotating system free of obstacles.

⁃ Use the ECO program (should be already set).

⁃ Tablets should be in the compartment below the sink, insert one of them in its compartment.

⁃ Press START button and it should indicate the finish time.

⁃ Close the door to activate.

⁃ You should see a red light on the floor below the applicance, indicating that it started correctly.

WASHING MACHINE

⁃ Always set it / leave it set to ECO

⁃ Close the lid once you loaded your laundry

⁃ Push “On”
